Ravatherm XPS Sheets – Our distributorship with Ravago Building Solutions enables us to offer a comprehensive range of Ravatherm Extruded Polystyrene sheets, hot-wire styrofoam cutting sheets to any thickness and CNC machined components. Our commitment to Ravatherm is demonstrated by a stock holding of 3000M3 and is the largest single stocking point in the UK. Our warehouse is one minute from Junction 31 of the M1 and is ideal for delivery or collection.
What is Ravatherm XPS?
Ravatherm XPS is an extruded polystyrene. It was first developed and produced in the 1940’s by Dow Chemical Company in the USA. The process of extruding polystyrene results in a material with uniformly small, closed cells and an unrivalled set of properties which make it ideal for insulation and also as a core in lightweight structural panels. Ravatherm combines low thermal conductivity and low water absorption to make it the choice of specifiers in a wide range of demanding insulation applications.
Ravatherm also has excellent mechanical properties including high strength in compression, tension, bending and shear which are essential for a core material in structural panels used in a range of markets including coldstores, touring caravans, truck panels, building and curtain-walling. The small uniform cell structure of Ravatherm is also ideally suited for use in markets such as hobby and craft where traditional modelling tools can create three-dimensional models.

Hot-Wire Cutting
Panel Systems has one of the largest specialist fabrication units for the hot-wire cutting of Ravatherm in Europe. Hot-wire cutting facilities include large volume and small batch capability. Sheets can be cut to a thickness of 5mm and by 0.5mm increments to around 150mm.
Our purchasing power enables us to source an extensive range of fabrication sheets from Ravago Building Solutions with lengths up to 3050mm, widths up to 1220mm and thickness up to 165mm. This ensures that the customer is able to achieve his required sheet size with the minimum of waste. The hot-wire cut surface of Ravatherm is ideal for the application of adhesives and is fully compatible with metals, plastics, and timber based products for bonding purposes. CNC Machining
Panel Systems operates three large 3-axis Cnc routers able to machine sheets up to 3650mm x 1525mm. In the case of Ravatherm, sheets up to 165mm are machined. In house CAD/CAM facilities enable us to rapidly prototype customer requirements and undertake both large and small production runs.
We are able to import an extensive range of file formats eg. dxf, dwg and we will also create CAD drawings and machining programs from customers rough outlines.

Blowing Agents
The production of Ravatherm XPS is primarily based on the extrusion of polystyrene with a blowing agent. There are two types of blowing agents used in the production of Ravatherm. These are HFO-1234ze and CO2. Both have zero ODP and low GWP.
Type A which are foamed by carbon dioxide. The ODP and GWP of the carbon dioxide foaming agent are 0 (kg CFC11 equivalent/kg carbon dioxide and 1 (kg carbon dioxide/kg carbon dioxide) respectively.
Waste Recycling
The vast majority of Ravatherm waste created during our production is compacted and recycled.
For some of our customers it has proved to be beneficial for Panel Systems to undertake additional fabrication and machining to minimise their waste.
We pride ourselves on our high level of quality & service and all our products are manufactured to British Standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015. We keep extensive stocks at our Sheffield warehouse close to Junction 31 off the M1, ready for collection or distribution across the UK.

The Dow Styrofoam & XEnergy brand names have changed to Ravatherm XPS. This product is now manufactured by Ravago Building Solutions – Europe’s largest manufacturer of XPS insulation. Delivery & Collections
Delivery
The delivery charge is shown once you enter your delivery postcode in the shopping cart. All our deliveries are sent via our courier networks and require a signature upon receipt. Ravatherm XPS products are delivered on pallets (or in boxes where indicated) for protection of the product. As such, please be advised that access by large vehicles may be required. Our deliveries take place between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, however we can arrange for special delivery instructions or times at an extra cost. Please call us on 0114 275 2881 to arrange.
For deliveries to post-codes AB, IV, KW, PA, PH, FK, DD, LD, BA, SP, SO, GU, RH, ME, TN, CT, BN, PO, BH, EX, TA, DT, EX, TQ, PL, TR, SA, DA, SE1, WC1, WC2, EC1, EC2, EC3, EC4, W1, a surcharge will be added to the total cost once the postcode is entered in the delivery address fields. For non-mainland post-codes e.g. BT, GY it will be necessary to contact us on 0114 275 2881 for the delivery charge. In this case, a member of our sales team will process your order, and collect credit card details manually.
Delivery Timescales
Our XPS products are normally delivered within 5-10 working days. Special delivery arrangements can be organised prior to order with our Sales Office on 0114 275 2881
We may contact you if we are unable to meet the specified delivery date. Where you wish to add special instructions to your order, this may delay the delivery.
Collections
Your order can be collected free of charge from our distribution depot located just 3 minutes’ drive from junction 31 of the M1 in Sheffield.

After you have placed and paid for your order, we need time to prepare it for you. Your order registers on our system shortly after payment is made online. You will receive an email confirming your order/payment. Please follow these steps after receiving your email confirmation.
Please call 0114 275 2881 to arrange a collection time and date: (Our collection point is open during the following times – 8.30am to 4pm Mon – Thursday and 8.30am to 2pm on Fridays)
You will require your emailed order reference to be able to make a collection, please use this reference in all correspondence.
A VAT Invoice will be sent by post after goods have been delivered / collected.
